Fabiola Guillén is a Mexican contemporary dance maker, performer, and dance educator currently pursuing a MA in Cultural and Creative Industries at Taipei National University of the Arts, in Taiwan. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, and a Bachelor of Dance with Honors, both from Universidad de las Américas Puebla, Mexico. In 2017, she received one of the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program scholarships by the Canadian government to undertake an academic exchange at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
In 2018, she was the only Mexican selected for a Dance Education Internship at Bates Dance Festival (Lewiston, Maine, USA), where she also choreographed a piece for the Young Choreographers/New Works Showcase. The same year, Guillén worked as a performer with acclaimed French choreographer Xavier Le Roy and Scarlet Yu for the exhibition 'Retrospective' at Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo in Mexico City.
Guillén's choreographic work has been presented internationally at SzólóDuó International Dance Festival 2018 and 2020 (Budapest, Hungary) World Dance Alliance – Americas Regional Assembly 2019 (El Paso, Texas, USA), Odisha Biennale 2019 (Bhubaneswar, India), Festival of Latin American Contemporary Choreographers 2018 (San Francisco, California), International Dance Day 2016 (Puebla, Mexico), among others. As a dance educator, she has taught ballet and modern/contemporary technique for various ages and levels in Mexico, Croatia, and India.
